Remote interrogation tasks

Issue

Tasks remain in the Pending Submitted or Submitted state.

Resolution

Remote Interrogation Tasks are pushed to the Service Mode server based on the ServiceModexiTaskScanPeriod parameter in IEE located at System Administration > System Admin > System Settings > System Behavior Settings. If this issue occurs and restarting the services does not address the problem, restart the Service Mode server and IEE application server.

If tasks remain in the Submitted state, xiCOMM may not be running or task processing is disabled. An issue may also exist with the SMXI CE Task Monitor service running on the Service Mode server. This issue may prevent the actual task state on the Service Mode server from displaying in the IEE Task Monitor.

Configuration issues may also cause remote interrogation tasks to remain in the Submitted state. This is usually caused from a daisy chain configuration where a slave recorder is not configured to a master recorder.

Time synchronization between the IEE application server and the xiCOMM servers may delay tasks from getting scheduled. Be sure to check the time on the IEE Application Server, Service Mode Server, and xiCOMM servers to ensure they are synchronized.
